Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
15:1
الٓر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
15:1
Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:2
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ
15:2
Soon will the time come when the unbelievers will wish they were Muslims. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:3
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا۟ وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
15:3
Leave them to eat and enjoy life and let false hopes amuse them. They will soon come to know. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:4
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
15:4
Whenever We destroyed a town, a definite term had previously been decreed for it. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:5
مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
15:5
No people can outstrip the term for its destruction nor can it delay it. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:6
وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِى نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ
15:6
They say: "O you to whom the Admonition has been revealed, you are surely crazed. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:7
لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
15:7
Why do you not bring down angels upon us if you are indeed truthful?" - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:8
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
15:8
We do not send down the angels (in frivolity); and when We do send them down, We do so with Truth; then people are granted no respite. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:9
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ
15:9
As for the Admonition, indeed it is We Who have revealed it and it is indeed We Who are its guardians. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:10
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
15:10
(O Muhammad), certainly We did send Messengers before you among the nations which have gone by. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:11
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
15:11
And whenever a Messenger came to them, they never failed to mock him. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:12
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
15:12
Even so We make a way for it (that is, the Admonition) in the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod); - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:13
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
15:13
they do not believe in it. This has been the wont of people of this kind from ancient times. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:14
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
15:14
If We were even to open for them a way to the heavens, and they could continually climb up to it in broad daylight, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:15
لَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَـٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ
15:15
they would still have said: "Surely our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been enchanted." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:16
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
15:16
We have indeed set constellations in the heavens and have beautified them for the beholders, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:17
وَحَفِظْنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
15:17
and have protected them against every accursed satan - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:18
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
15:18
save him who may eavesdrop, and then a bright flame pursues him. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:19
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ
15:19
As for the earth, We have stretched it out and have cast on it firm mountains, and have caused to grow in it everything well-measured. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:20
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَـٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
15:20
And We have provided sustenance for you on it and also for those of whom you are not the providers. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:21
وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
15:21
There is nothing except that its treasuries are with Us and We do not send it down except in a known measure. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:22
وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِينَ
15:22
We send fertilizing winds, and then cause rain to descend from the sky, providing you abundant water to drink even though you could not have stored it up for yourselves. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:23
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
15:23
It is indeed We Who grant life and cause death and it is We who shall be the sole Inheritors of all. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:24
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ
15:24
Surely We know those of you who have passed before and those who will come later. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:25
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
15:25
Indeed your Lord will gather them all together. Surely He is All-Wise, All-Knowing. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:26
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
15:26
Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:27
وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
15:27
while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:28
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَـٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
15:28
Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:29
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِينَ
15:29
When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:30
فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
15:30
So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:31
إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
15:31
except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:32
قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
15:32
The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:33
قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
15:33
He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:34
قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
15:34
The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:35
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
15:35
and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:36
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
15:36
Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:37
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
15:37
Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:38
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
15:38
until the day of a known time." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:39
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:39
Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:40
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
15:40
except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:41
قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
15:41
Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:42
إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ
15:42
Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:43
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:43
Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:44
لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ
15:44
There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:45
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
15:45
As for the God-fearing, they shall be amid gardens and springs. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:46
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
15:46
They will be told: "Enter it in peace and security." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:47
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
15:47
And We shall purge their breasts of all traces of rancour; and they shall be seated on couches facing one another as brothers. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:48
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
15:48
They shall face no fatigue in it, nor shall they ever be driven out of it. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:49
۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
15:49
(O Prophet), declare to My servants that I am indeed Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:50
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ
15:50
At the same time, My chastisement is highly painful. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:51
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
15:51
And tell them about Abraham's guests. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:52
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
15:52
When they came to Abraham they said: "Peace be upon you!" He replied: "Indeed we feel afraid of you." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:53
قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
15:53
They said: "Do not feel afraid, for we give you the good news of a wise boy." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:54
قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
15:54
Abraham said: "What, do you give me this tiding though old age has smitten me? Just consider what tiding do you give me!" - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:55
قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَـٰنِطِينَ
15:55
They said: "The good tiding we give you is of truth. Do not, therefore, be of those who despair." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:56
قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
15:56
Abraham said: "Who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except the misguided?" - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:57
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
15:57
He added: "What is your errand O sent ones?" - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:58
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
15:58
They said: "Verily we have been sent to a guilty people - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:59
إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:59
excepting the household of Lot. We shall deliver all of them, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:60
إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
15:60
except his wife (about whom Allah says that) We have decreed that she shall be among those who stay behind." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:61
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
15:61
So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:62
قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
15:62
he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:63
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
15:63
They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:64
وَأَتَيْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
15:64
We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:65
فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَـٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
15:65
So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:66
وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
15:66
And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:67
وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
15:67
In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:68
قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
15:68
He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:69
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
15:69
Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:70
قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
15:70
They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:71
قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَـٰعِلِينَ
15:71
Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:72
لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
15:72
By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:73
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
15:73
Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:74
فَجَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
15:74
and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:75
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
15:75
There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:76
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ
15:76
The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:77
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
15:77
Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:78
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِينَ
15:78
And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:79
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
15:79
So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:80
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
15:80
Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:81
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
15:81
We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:82
وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
15:82
They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:83
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
15:83
Then the Blast caught them in the morning - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:84
فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
15:84
and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:85
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَـَٔاتِيَةٌ ۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ
15:85
We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:86
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
15:86
Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:87
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ
15:87
We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:88
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
15:88
Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:89
وَقُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
15:89
and clearly tell the unbelievers: "I am most certainly a plain warner," - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:90
كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
15:90
even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:91
ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ
15:91
those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:92
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:92
By your Lord, We will question them all - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:93
عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
15:93
concerning what they have been doing. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:94
فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
15:94
(O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:95
إِنَّا كَفَيْنَـٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ
15:95
Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:96
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
15:96
those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:97
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
15:97
We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)

فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
15:98
When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
15:99
وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ
15:99
and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
