بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
79:1
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2
By the angels who release with gentle release. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:3
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3
By the angels who glide swimmingiy, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4
And then they speed with foremost speed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5
And then they manage the affair, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:6
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6
A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:7
تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7
And there will follow it the next blast. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:8
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8
Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:9
أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9
Their looks will be downcast. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:10
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10
They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:11
أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11
When we have become bones decayed! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:12
قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12
They say: that then shall be a losing return. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:13
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13
It will be only one scaring shout, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:14
فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14
And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:15
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15
Hath there come Unto thee the story of Musa! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:16
إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16
Recall what time his Lord called Unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:17
ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17
Saying:'go thou Unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:18
فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18
Then say thou: 'wouldst thou to be purified? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:19
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19
Then shall guide thee Unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:20
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20
Then he shewed him the great sign. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:21
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21
Yet he belied and disobeyed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:22
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22
Then he turned back striving. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:23
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23
Then he gathered and cried aloud, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:24
فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24
And he said: I am Your Lord, most high. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:25
فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25
Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:26
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26
Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:27
ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27
Are ye harder to create or the heaven which He hath builded? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:28
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28
He hath raised the height thereof and perfected it. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:29
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29
And He made dark its night, and brought forth its sunshine. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:30
وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30
And the earth!- thereafter He stretched it out. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:31
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31
And he brought forth therefrom its water, and its pasture. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:32
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32
And the mountains! - He established them firm: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:33
مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33
A provision for you and your cattle. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:34
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34
Then when the Grand Calamity shall come - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:35
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35
The Day whereon man shall rember whatsoever he had striven for. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:36
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36
And the Scorch will be made apparent to any one who beholdeth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:37
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37
Then as for him who waxed exorbitant, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:38
وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38
And who chose the life of the world, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:39
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39
Verily the Scorch! that shall be his resort. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:40
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40
And as for him who dreaded standing before his Lord, and restrained his soul from lust, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:41
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41
Verily the Garden! -that shall be his resort. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:42
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42
They question thee of the Hour:'when will its arrival be? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:43
فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43
Wherein art thou concerred with the declaration thereof! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:44
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44
Unto thy Lord is the Knowledge of the limit fixed therefor. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:45
إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45
Thou art but a warner Unto him who feareth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
79:46
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46
On the Day whereon they behold it, it will appear to them as though they had not tarried save an evening or the morn thereof. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
