بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
79:1
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2
And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:3
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3
And who glide with ease. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4
And who quickly present themselves. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5
And who plan the implementation. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:6
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6
On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:7
تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7
And the following event will come after it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:8
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8
Many a heart will flutter on that day! - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:9
أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9
Unable to lift their gaze. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:10
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10
The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:11
أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11
“When we have become decayed bones?” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:12
قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12
They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:13
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13
So that is not but a single shout. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:14
فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14
So they will immediately be in an open plain. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:15
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15
Did the news of Moosa reach you? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:16
إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16
When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:17
ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17
That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:18
فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18
“Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:19
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19
‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:20
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20
So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:21
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21
In response, he denied and disobeyed. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:22
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22
He then turned away, striving in his effort. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:23
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23
So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:24
فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24
And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:25
فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25
Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:26
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26
Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:27
ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27
Do you think that it is harder to create you or the heavens? Allah has created it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:28
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28
He raised its roof and made it proper. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:29
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29
And He made its night dark, and started its light. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:30
وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30
And after it spread out the earth. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:31
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31
And from it produced its water and its pasture. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:32
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32
And solidified the mountains. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:33
مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33
In order to benefit you and your cattle. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:34
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34
So when the greatest universal disaster arrives, - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:35
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35
On that day man will recall all what he strove for. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:36
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36
And hell will be made visible to all those who can see. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:37
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37
So for one who rebelled, - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:38
وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38
And preferred the worldly life, - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:39
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39
Then indeed hell only is his destination. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:40
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40
And for one who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from desire, - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:41
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41
Then indeed Paradise only is his destination. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:42
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42
They (the disbelievers) ask you regarding the Last Day, as to when is its appointed time. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:43
فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43
What concern do you have regarding its explanation? (You are not bound to tell them) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:44
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44
Towards your Lord only is its conclusion. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:45
إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45
You are but a Herald of Warning, for one who fears it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
79:46
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46
The day when they will see it, it will seem as if they had not stayed on earth except for an evening or its morning. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
