بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
72:1
قُلْ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًا
72:1
Say, ‘It has been revealed to me that a team of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, “Indeed we heard a wonderful Quran, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:2
يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشْدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدًا
72:2
which guides to rectitude. Hence, we have believed in it and we will never ascribe any partner to our Lord. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:3
وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَـٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَـٰحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا
72:3
Exalted be the majesty of our Lord; He has taken neither any spouse nor son. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:4
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطًا
72:4
The foolish ones among us used to speak atrocious lies concerning Allah. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:5
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلْإِنسُ وَٱلْجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا
72:5
We thought that humans and jinn would never utter any falsehood concerning Allah. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:6
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًا
72:6
Indeed some persons from the humans would seek the protection of some persons from the jinn, thus only adding to their rebellion. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:7
وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا۟ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدًا
72:7
They thought, just as you think, that Allah will not raise anyone from the dead. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:8
وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنَـٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا
72:8
Indeed we made for the heaven and found it full of mighty sentries and flames. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:9
وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَـٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْـَٔانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا
72:9
We used to sit in its positions to eavesdrop, but anyone listening now finds a flame waiting for him. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:10
وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِىٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا
72:10
We do not know whether ill is intended for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intends good for them. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:11
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدًا
72:11
Among us some are righteous and some are otherwise: we are various sects. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:12
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًا
72:12
We know that we cannot frustrate Allah on the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by fleeing. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:13
وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ ۖ فَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا
72:13
When we heard the [message of] guidance, we believed in it. Whoever that has faith in his Lord will fear neither privation nor oppression. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:14
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلْقَـٰسِطُونَ ۖ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا۟ رَشَدًا
72:14
Among us some are Muslims and some of us are perverse.” ’ Those who submit [to Allah]—it is they who pursue rectitude. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:15
وَأَمَّا ٱلْقَـٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا۟ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا
72:15
As for the perverse, they will be firewood for hell. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:16
وَأَلَّوِ ٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَـٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقًا
72:16
If they are steadfast on the path [of Allah], We shall provide them with abundant water, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:17
لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا
72:17
so that We may test them therein, and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will let him into an escalating punishment. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:18
وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَـٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًا
72:18
The places of worship belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone along with Allah. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:19
وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا
72:19
When the servant of Allah rose to pray to Him, they almost crowded around him. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:20
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى وَلَآ أُشْرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
72:20
Say, ‘I pray only to my Lord, and I do not ascribe any partner to Him.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:21
قُلْ إِنِّى لَآ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا رَشَدًا
72:21
Say, ‘I have no power to bring you any harm or good [of my own accord].’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:22
قُلْ إِنِّى لَن يُجِيرَنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلْتَحَدًا
72:22
Say, ‘Neither can anyone shelter me from Allah, nor can I find any refuge besides Him. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:23
إِلَّا بَلَـٰغًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَـٰلَـٰتِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا
72:23
[I have no duty] except to transmit from Allah, and [to communicate] His messages; and whoever disobeys Allah and His apostle, there will indeed be for him the fire of hell, to remain in it forever.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:24
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًا
72:24
When they see what they are promised, they will know who is weaker in supporters and fewer in numbers. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:25
قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَمَدًا
72:25
Say, ‘I do not know if what you are promised is near, or if my Lord has set a [long] term for it.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:26
عَـٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
72:26
Knower of the Unseen, He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] Unseen to anyone, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:27
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسْلُكُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ رَصَدًا
72:27
except to an apostle He approves of. Then He dispatches a sentinel before and behind him - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
72:28
لِّيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا۟ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عَدَدًۢا
72:28
so that He may ascertain that they have communicated the messages of their Lord, and He encompasses all that is with them, and He keeps an count of all things. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
