Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
                    بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
                
                
                    In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
                
            
                    71:1
                    إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:1
                    Indeed We sent Noah to his people, [saying,] ‘Warn your people before a painful punishment overtakes them.’  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:2
                    قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:2
                    He said, ‘O my people! Indeed, I am a manifest warner to you.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:3
                    أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:3
                    Worship Allah and be wary of Him, and obey me,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:4
                    يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:4
                    that He may forgive you some of your sins and respite you until a specified time. Indeed when Allah’s [appointed] time comes, it cannot be deferred, if you know.’  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:5
                    قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:5
                    He said, ‘My Lord! Indeed, I have summoned my people night and day  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:6
                    فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:6
                    but my summons only increases their evasion.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:7
                    وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:7
                    Indeed whenever I have summoned them, so that You might forgive them, they would put their fingers into their ears and draw their cloaks over their heads, and they were persistent [in their unfaith], and disdainful in [their] arrogance.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:8
                    ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:8
                    Again I summoned them aloud,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:9
                    ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:9
                    and again appealed to them publicly and confided with them privately,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:10
                    فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:10
                    telling [them]: ‘‘Plead to your Lord for forgiveness. Indeed, He is all-forgiving.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:11
                    يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:11
                    He will send for you abundant rains from the sky,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:12
                    وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَـٰرًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:12
                    and aid you with wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and provide you with streams.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:13
                    مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:13
                    What is the matter with you that you do not look upon Allah with veneration,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:14
                    وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:14
                    though He has created you in [various] stages?  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:15
                    أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:15
                    Have you not seen how Allah has created the seven heavens in layers,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:16
                    وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:16
                    and has made therein the moon for a light and the sun for a lamp?  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:17
                    وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:17
                    Allah made you grow from the earth, with a [vegetable] growth.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:18
                    ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:18
                    Then He makes you return to it, and He will bring you forth [without fail].  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:19
                    وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:19
                    Allah has made the earth a vast expanse for you  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:20
                    لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:20
                    so that you may travel over its spacious ways.’’ ’  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:21
                    قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:21
                    Noah said, ‘My Lord! They have disobeyed me, following someone whose wealth and children only add to his loss,  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:22
                    وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:22
                    and they have devised an outrageous plot.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:23
                    وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:23
                    They say, ‘‘Do not abandon your gods. Do not abandon Wadd, nor Suwa, nor Yaghuth, Ya‘uq and Nasr,’’  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:24
                    وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَـٰلًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:24
                    and already they have led many astray. Do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but error.’  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:25
                    مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:25
                    They were drowned because of their iniquities, then made to enter a Fire, and they did not find any helpers for themselves besides Allah.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:26
                    وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:26
                    And Noah said, ‘My Lord! ‘Do not leave on the earth any inhabitant from among the faithless.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:27
                    إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:27
                    If You leave them, they will lead astray Your servants, and will beget none except vicious ingrates.  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:28
                    رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا
                
                
                
                
                
                    71:28
                    My Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house in faith, and the faithful men and women, and do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but ruin.’  - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
