بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
71:1
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
71:1
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:2
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
71:2
He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:3
أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ
71:3
Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:4
يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
71:4
He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:5
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
71:5
'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:6
فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا
71:6
but my call has only increased them in running away. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:7
وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
71:7
Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becomingvery proud. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:8
ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا
71:8
I called to them clearly, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:9
ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا
71:9
and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:10
فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
71:10
"Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:11
يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
71:11
He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:12
وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَـٰرًا
71:12
and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:13
مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
71:13
What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:14
وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا
71:14
He has created you by stages! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:15
أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا
71:15
Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:16
وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
71:16
setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:17
وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا
71:17
Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:18
ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا
71:18
and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:19
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا
71:19
Allah has made the earth spread out for you - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:20
لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا
71:20
so that you walk in its spacious paths.' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:21
قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا
71:21
Noah said: 'My Lord, they have rebelled against me and followed he whose wealth and offspring increase him only in loss, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:22
وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا
71:22
they have devised a mighty plot, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:23
وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا
71:23
and said: 'Do not renounce your gods, do not leave waddan or suwa'an or yaghutha, or ya'uqa, or nasra' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:24
وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَـٰلًا
71:24
And they have led many astray. (Noah supplicated saying): 'Allah, do not increase the harmdoers except in error' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:25
مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا
71:25
So because of their sins they were drowned and admitted into the Fire. They found none to help them other than Allah. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:26
وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا
71:26
And Noah (supplicated) saying: 'My Lord, do not leave a single unbeliever upon the earth. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:27
إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا
71:27
Surely, if You leave them they will mislead Your worshipers and father none but the immoral, and unbelievers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
71:28
رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا
71:28
Forgive me, My Lord, and my parents, and whosoever seeks refuge in my house as a believer, and the believers men and women alike, and do not increase the harmdoers except in ruin' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
