بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
50:1
قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ
50:1
Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah) - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:2
بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
50:2
Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:3
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌ
50:3
What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:4
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ
50:4
We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:5
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ
50:5
Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:6
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ
50:6
Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:7
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ
50:7
And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:8
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ
50:8
To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:9
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبَـٰرَكًا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ
50:9
And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:10
وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَـٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ
50:10
And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:11
رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ
50:11
A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:12
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ
50:12
(Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:13
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍ
50:13
And Ad and Firon and Lut's brethren, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:14
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ
50:14
And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the apostles, so My threat came to pass. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:15
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
50:15
Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:16
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ
50:16
And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:17
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ
50:17
When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:18
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
50:18
He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:19
وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ
50:19
And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:20
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ
50:20
And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:21
وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ
50:21
And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:22
لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
50:22
Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:23
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ
50:23
And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:24
أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
50:24
Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:25
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ
50:25
Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:26
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ
50:26
Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:27
۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ
50:27
His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:28
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ
50:28
He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:29
مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
50:29
My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:30
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ
50:30
On the day that We will say to hell: Are you filled up? And it will say: Are there any more? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:31
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ
50:31
And the garden shall be brought near to those who guard (against evil), not far off: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:32
هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ
50:32
This is what you were promised, (it is) for every one who turns frequently (to Allah), keeps (His limits); - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:33
مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ
50:33
Who fears the Beneficent Allah in secret and comes with a penitent heart: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:34
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ
50:34
Enter it in peace, that is the day of abiding. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:35
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ
50:35
They have therein what they wish and with Us is more yet. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:36
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ
50:36
And how many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they, so they went about and about in the lands. Is there a place of refuge? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:37
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
50:37
Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:38
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ
50:38
And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched Us not any fatigue. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:39
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ
50:39
Therefore be patient of what they say, and sing the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before the setting. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:40
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ
50:40
And glorify Him in the night and after the prayers. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:41
وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
50:41
And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:42
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ
50:42
The day when they shall hear the cry in truth; that is the day of coming forth. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:43
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ
50:43
Surely We give life and cause to die, and to Us is the eventual coming; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:44
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ
50:44
The day on which the earth shall cleave asunder under them, they will make haste; that is a gathering together easy to Us. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
50:45
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ
50:45
We know best what they say, and you are not one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Quran who fears My threat. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
