بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
23:1 قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
23:1 Blissful are the believers'- - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:2 ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَـٰشِعُونَ
23:2 Those who in their prayer are lowly. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:3 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
23:3 And those who from everything vain turn away. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:4 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَـٰعِلُونَ
23:4 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:5 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَـٰفِظُونَ
23:5 And those who of their private Parts are guards. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:6 إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
23:6 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy- - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:7 فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
23:7 And Whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:8 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
23:8 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:9 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
23:9 And those who of their prayers are observant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:10 أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
23:10 These! they are the inheritors. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:11 ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ
23:11 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:12 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن سُلَـٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
23:12 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:13 ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
23:13 Thereafter We made him of a Sperm In a receptacle safe. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:14 ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَـٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
23:14 -Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as anot her creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:15 ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
23:15 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:16 ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
23:16 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:17 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَـٰفِلِينَ
23:17 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:18 وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّـٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ
23:18 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:19 فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَـٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
23:19 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date- palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:20 وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْـَٔاكِلِينَ
23:20 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:21 وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
23:21 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:22 وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
23:22 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:23 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
23:23 And assuredly We sent Nuh unto his people, and he said: O my people! worship Allah; for you there is no god but he; will ye not then fear Him! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:24 فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
23:24 Then said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people: this is no other than a human being like unto you, he seeketh to make himself superior unto; and if God had willed, He would save sent down angels; we have not heard of this among our fathers ancient. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:25 إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
23:25 He is only a man in whom is madness wherefore await for him for a season. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:26 قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
23:26 Nuh said: my Lord! vindicate me, for they belie me. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:27 فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
23:27 Then We revealed unto him, saying: build the ark under Our eyes and Our Revelation; then when Our command cometh and the oven boileth over, make way therein of every pair two, and thy household save him thereof against whom there hath already gone forth the word; and address me not in respect of those who have done wrong; verily they are to be drowned. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:28 فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
23:28 And when thou art settled, thou and those with thee, in the ark, say thou: praise unto Allah who hath delivered us from the wrong doing people. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:29 وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
23:29 And say thou, my Lord! cause me to land at a landing blest, and thou art the Best of these who bring to land. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:30 إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
23:30 Verily in that are signs; verily We have ever been provers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:31 ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ
23:31 Then, after them We brought forth anot her generation. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:32 فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
23:32 Then We sent amongst them an apostle from amongst themselves, saying: worship Allah, for you there is no god but he; will ye then not fear Him? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:33 وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
23:33 And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the World: this is no other than a human being like unto you: he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:34 وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ
23:34 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:35 أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ
23:35 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:36 ۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
23:36 Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:37 إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
23:37 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised Up. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:38 إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
23:38 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:39 قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
23:39 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:40 قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَـٰدِمِينَ
23:40 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:41 فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ غُثَآءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
23:41 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:42 ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ
23:42 Then after them We brought forth other generations. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:43 مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
23:43 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:44 ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
23:44 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one anot her, and We made them bywords: so away with a people who believe not! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:45 ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
23:45 Thereafter We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our signs and an authority manifest. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:46 إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
23:46 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:47 فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَـٰبِدُونَ
23:47 So they said: shall we believe In two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:48 فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ
23:48 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:49 وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
23:49 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:50 وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
23:50 And We made the son of Maryam and his mother a sign; and We sheltered the twain on a height: a quiet abode and running water. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:51 يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَـٰلِحًا ۖ إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
23:51 O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:52 وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ
23:52 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:53 فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
23:53 Then they cut their affair among them in regard to the Scriptures: each band in that which is with them rejoicing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:54 فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
23:54 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:55 أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
23:55 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:56 نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
23:56 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:57 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ
23:57 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:58 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
23:58 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:59 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
23:59 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:60 وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ
23:60 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be retutners - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:61 أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَـٰبِقُونَ
23:61 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:62 وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَـٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
23:62 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:63 بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَـٰمِلُونَ
23:63 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:64 حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ
23:64 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:65 لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
23:65 Implore not to-day; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:66 قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ
23:66 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:67 مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
23:67 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:68 أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
23:68 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:69 أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
23:69 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:70 أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ
23:70 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:71 وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
23:71 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:72 أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
23:72 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:73 وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
23:73 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:74 وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَـٰكِبُونَ
23:74 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:75 ۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَـٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
23:75 And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:76 وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
23:76 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:77 حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
23:77 Until when we shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:78 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
23:78 And He it is Who brought forth for you hearing and sight and hearts, little thanks ye give! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:79 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
23:79 And He it is Who spread you on the earth, and unto Him ye will be gathered. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:80 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَـٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
23:80 And He it is Who quickeneth and causeth to die, and His is the alternation of night and day; will ye not then reflect? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:81 بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
23:81 Aye! they say the like of that which said the ancients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:82 قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
23:82 They say: when we are dead, and have become dust and bones, shall we verily be raised up? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:83 لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
23:83 Assuredly this we have been promised--we and our fathers-- aforetime: naught is this but the fables of the ancients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:84 قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
23:84 Say thou: whose is the earth and whosoever is therein, if you know? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:85 سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
23:85 They will surely say: God's. Say thou: will ye not then heed? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:86 قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
23:86 Say thou: who is Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the mighty throne? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:87 سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
23:87 They will surely say: God. Say thou: will ye not then fear? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:88 قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
23:88 Saythou: in whose hands is the governance of everything, and who sheltereth but from whom none is sheltered, if ye know? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:89 سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
23:89 They will surely say: God's. Say thou: how then are ye turned away? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:90 بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
23:90 Aye! We have brought them the truth and verily they are the liars. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:91 مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
23:91 Allah hath not betaken to Himself any son, and there is not along Him any god; else each god would have gone off with that which he had created, and one of them would have exalted himself above the others. Hallowed be Allah above that which they ascribe! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:92 عَـٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
23:92 Knower of the unseen and the seen, Exalted is He above that which they associate! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:93 قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
23:93 Say thou; my Lord! if Thou wilt shew me that wherewith they are threatened. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:94 رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
23:94 My Lord! then place me not among the wrong-doing people. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:95 وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ
23:95 And verily to shew them that wherewith We threaten them We are surely Able. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:96 ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
23:96 Repel thou the evil with that which is the best, We are the Best Knower of that which they utter. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:97 وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
23:97 And say thou: my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee against the whisperings of the satans; - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:98 وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
23:98 And I seek refuge with Thee, my Lord! lest they may be present with me - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:99 حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ
23:99 lt ceaseth not until when death cometh to one of them, and he saith: my Lord! send me back. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:100 لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَـٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّآ ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
23:100 That I may work righteously in that which have left. By no means! It is but a word he uttereth; and before them is a barrier until the Day when they shall be raised. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:101 فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
23:101 Then when the Trumpet is blown there will be no lineage among them that Day, nor will they ask of each other. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:102 فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
23:102 Then he whose balances shall be heavy --these! they are the blissful ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:103 وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ
23:103 And he whose balances shall be light--these are they who have lost themselves: in Hell they are abiders. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:104 تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَـٰلِحُونَ
23:104 The Fire will scorch their faces, and therein they shall be grinning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:105 أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
23:105 Have not My revelations been rehearsed unto you, and them ye have been belying? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:106 قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ
23:106 They will say: our Lord! our wretchedness overcame, us, and we have been a people erring. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:107 رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَـٰلِمُونَ
23:107 O our Lord! take us forth from it: then if we return, we shall be wrong-doers indeed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:108 قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
23:108 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:109 إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
23:109 Verily there was a party of My bondmen who said: our Lord! we have believed, wherefore forgive us and have mercy upon us, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:110 فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
23:110 Then ye took them mockingly, so that they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, and at them ye were wont to laugh. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:111 إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
23:111 Verily I have recompensed them today for they bear patiently, verily they! are the achievers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:112 قَـٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
23:112 He will say: how long tarried ye on the earth in number of year? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:113 قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
23:113 -They will say we tarried a day or part of a day; ask those who keep count. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:114 قَـٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
23:114 He will say: ye tarried a little indeed; would that ye had known that: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:115 أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
23:115 Deem ye that We have created youl in vain and that unto Us ye are not to be returned? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:116 فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
23:116 So exalted be Allah, the True King! there is no god but he, Lord of the Throne honoured. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:117 وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
23:117 And whosoever calleth, along with Allah, unto anot her god, of whom he hath no warranty, then his reckoning is only with his Lord; verily thrive will not the infidels. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
23:118 وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
23:118 And say thou: my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
