بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
38:1
صٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ذِى ٱلذِّكْرِ
38:1
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:2
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ
38:2
No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:3
كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوا۟ وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ
38:3
How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:4
وَعَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا سَـٰحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ
38:4
They marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say: 'This is a lying sorcerer. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:5
أَجَعَلَ ٱلْـَٔالِهَةَ إِلَـٰهًا وَٰحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عُجَابٌ
38:5
What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:6
وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱمْشُوا۟ وَٱصْبِرُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ يُرَادُ
38:6
Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:7
مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِى ٱلْمِلَّةِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا ٱخْتِلَـٰقٌ
38:7
We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:8
أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِى ۖ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِ
38:8
What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:9
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْوَهَّابِ
38:9
Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:10
أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَسْبَـٰبِ
38:10
Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:11
جُندٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ
38:11
The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:12
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو ٱلْأَوْتَادِ
38:12
Before them the nations of Noah, Aad and Pharaoh, and he of the tentpegs belied, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:13
وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ
38:13
Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:14
إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ
38:14
There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:15
وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ
38:15
These only wait for a single Shout for which there will be no delay. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:16
وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ
38:16
They say: 'Our Lord, hasten to us our share before the Day of Recompense' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:17
ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُۥدَ ذَا ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
38:17
Bear patiently with what they say, and remember Our worshiper David, a man of might. He was ever turning in repentance. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:18
إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا ٱلْجِبَالَ مَعَهُۥ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِ
38:18
We subjected the mountains to exalt (Me) with him in the evening and at sunrise, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:19
وَٱلطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
38:19
and the birds, too, gathered each obedient to him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:20
وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُۥ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ ٱلْخِطَابِ
38:20
We made his kingdom strong and gave him wisdom and decisive speech. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:21
۞ وَهَلْ أَتَىٰكَ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا۟ ٱلْمِحْرَابَ
38:21
Has the news of the dispute reached you (Prophet Muhammad)? When they scaled the Sanctuary - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:22
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَٱهْدِنَآ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ
38:22
they went to David whereupon he was afraid of them, but they said: 'Do not be afraid, we are two that have a dispute, one of us has wronged the other. Judge between us justly, and do not transgress, and guide us to the Right Path. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:23
إِنَّ هَـٰذَآ أَخِى لَهُۥ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِىَ نَعْجَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِى فِى ٱلْخِطَابِ
38:23
This, my brother has ninetynine ewes, but I have only one ewe (a female sheep). He said: "Give her into my keeping" and overcame me in the argument' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:24
قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِۦ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْخُلَطَآءِ لَيَبْغِى بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُۥدُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّـٰهُ فَٱسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُۥ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ ۩
38:24
He (David) replied: 'He has without doubt wronged you in seeking to add your ewe to his sheep. Many intermixers wrong one another; except those who believe, and do good works, and they are few indeed' David realized that We had tried him and sought the forgiveness of his Lord and fell down, prostrate and repented. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:25
فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُۥ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍ
38:25
So, We forgave him that, and he has a near place with Us and a fine return. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:26
يَـٰدَاوُۥدُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰكَ خَلِيفَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌۢ بِمَا نَسُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْحِسَابِ
38:26
(We said): 'David, We have made you a caliph in the earth. Judge with justice among people and do not yield to your own preference in case it should lead you from the Path of Allah. Surely, a terrible punishment awaits those who stray from the Path of Allah, because they forget the Day of Reckoning' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:27
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَـٰطِلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ
38:27
It was not in falsehood that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. That is the thought of the unbelievers. But woe to the unbelievers because of the Fire! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:28
أَمْ نَجْعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ كَٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ كَٱلْفُجَّارِ
38:28
Are We to make those who believe and do good works the same as those who corrupt the earth? Are We to make the righteous as the wicked? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:29
كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَـٰرَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
38:29
It is a Blessed Book that We have sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad), so that those possessed with minds might ponder its verses and remember. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:30
وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُۥدَ سُلَيْمَـٰنَ ۚ نِعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
38:30
We gave Solomon to David; and he was an excellent worshiper, he was penitent. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:31
إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ ٱلصَّـٰفِنَـٰتُ ٱلْجِيَادُ
38:31
When his dressage steeds were presented to him in the evening, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:32
فَقَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ ٱلْخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّى حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِٱلْحِجَابِ
38:32
he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:33
رُدُّوهَا عَلَىَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًۢا بِٱلسُّوقِ وَٱلْأَعْنَاقِ
38:33
Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:34
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَـٰنَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ
38:34
Indeed, We tried Solomon and placed a body (of a child) upon his throne, then he repented. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:35
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَهَبْ لِى مُلْكًا لَّا يَنۢبَغِى لِأَحَدٍ مِّنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ
38:35
He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:36
فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ ٱلرِّيحَ تَجْرِى بِأَمْرِهِۦ رُخَآءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ
38:36
So We subjected the wind to him, so that it ran softly by his command wherever he wished; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:37
وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّآءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ
38:37
and the satans, every builder and diver - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:38
وَءَاخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِى ٱلْأَصْفَادِ
38:38
and others joined together by (iron) fetters. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:39
هَـٰذَا عَطَآؤُنَا فَٱمْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
38:39
'This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:40
وَإِنَّ لَهُۥ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍ
38:40
And he has a place near to Us, and a fine return. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:41
وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَآ أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ
38:41
Also, remember Our worshiper Job. He called out to his Lord, (saying): 'satan has afflicted me with harm and pain' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:42
ٱرْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَـٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌۢ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ
38:42
(We said): 'Stamp your foot on the ground, here is cool water with which to wash and a drink' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:43
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
38:43
We restored to him to his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:44
وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَٱضْرِب بِّهِۦ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَـٰهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
38:44
(We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:45
وَٱذْكُرْ عِبَـٰدَنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَيْدِى وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِ
38:45
Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:46
إِنَّآ أَخْلَصْنَـٰهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى ٱلدَّارِ
38:46
Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:47
وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ
38:47
Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:48
وَٱذْكُرْ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ
38:48
Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:49
هَـٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَـَٔابٍ
38:49
This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:50
جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَبْوَٰبُ
38:50
the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:51
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ
38:51
in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:52
۞ وَعِندَهُمْ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ
38:52
And with them will be maidens of equal age with modest gaze. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:53
هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ
38:53
'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:54
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُۥ مِن نَّفَادٍ
38:54
this is Our unending provision' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:55
هَـٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّـٰغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَـَٔابٍ
38:55
All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:56
جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ
38:56
They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:57
هَـٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ
38:57
All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:58
وَءَاخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجٌ
38:58
and other similar to it, joined together. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:59
هَـٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا۟ ٱلنَّارِ
38:59
(We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:60
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ
38:60
But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:61
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِى ٱلنَّارِ
38:61
They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:62
وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ
38:62
And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:63
أَتَّخَذْنَـٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ
38:63
Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:64
إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ ٱلنَّارِ
38:64
Surely that is true the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:65
قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ
38:65
Say: 'I am only a warner. There is no god except Allah, the One, the Conqueror, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:66
رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّـٰرُ
38:66
the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:67
قُلْ هُوَ نَبَؤٌا۟ عَظِيمٌ
38:67
Say: 'This is a mighty message - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:68
أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ
38:68
from which you turn away. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:69
مَا كَانَ لِىَ مِنْ عِلْمٍۭ بِٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰٓ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
38:69
I had no knowledge of the High Assembly's dispute. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:70
إِن يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ إِلَّآ أَنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
38:70
This alone is revealed to me, I am only a clear warner' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:71
إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَـٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّن طِينٍ
38:71
When your Lord said to the angels: 'I am creating a human from clay, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:72
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِينَ
38:72
after I have shaped him and breathed of My spirit (I created) into him, fall down prostrate before him' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:73
فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
38:73
So all the angels prostrated themselves - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:74
إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ ٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
38:74
except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:75
قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْعَالِينَ
38:75
He (Allah) said: 'iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself towards that which I have created with My Hands? Have you become too proud, or areyou among the grand' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:76
قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍ
38:76
He (satan) replied: 'I am better than he. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:77
قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
38:77
'Begone' said He, 'you are stoned'. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:78
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
38:78
'My curse shall rest on you until the Day of Recompense' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:79
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
38:79
He (satan) replied: 'Respite me my Lord till the Day of Resurrection' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:80
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
38:80
He (Allah) said: 'You are among those that are respited - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:81
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
38:81
till the Day of the known time' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:82
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
38:82
He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:83
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
38:83
except those among them who are Your sincere worshipers' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:84
قَالَ فَٱلْحَقُّ وَٱلْحَقَّ أَقُولُ
38:84
He (Allah) said: 'This is the truth, and I speak the truth: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:85
لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
38:85
I shall certainly fill Gehenna with you and every one of them that follows you' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:86
قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
38:86
Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:87
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
38:87
This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
38:88
وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُۥ بَعْدَ حِينٍۭ
38:88
and after a while you shall know its news' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
